Director of Sustainability

Allison (Allie) Randell, director of sustainability, is the newest addition to the American Peanut Council staff. She joined the team in August 2023. As director of sustainability, she oversees APC’s Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Initiative, an industry-wide and industry-fueled data-collection platform that helps growers tell their sustainability story. In this capacity, Allie’s portfolio includes working closely with APC’s Sustainability Committee to draft standard operating procedures on grower enrollment, data collection and verification processes. She provides training and support to industry stakeholders to help enroll their grower networks and works closely with state peanut associations and state extension services to activate recruitment programs in their respective states and regions. She also represents APC at trade shows and industry meetings across the peanut belt to raise awareness of the program.

Allie came to APC from Premium Peanut where she was a grower liaison. In this role she led enrollment of more than 100 growers in the Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Initiative, while also delivering training and support for the 2021-2022 crop years. She also provided agronomic support to growers regarding crop health, maturity and other management practices, while maintaining relationships with grower-owners, buying point managers, crop consultants and other key industry stakeholders. Prior to working at Premium Peanut, Randell was a graduate research assistant at the University of Georgia and has held intern-level positions at Syngenta Crop Protection and Holder Ag Consulting. She holds the Certified Crop Advisor designation.

Allie has a Master of Plant Protection and Pest Management from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Abraham Balwin Agricultural College, Tifton, Ga.
