In 2024, the American Peanut Council took important steps to deepen engagement with the global ready-to-use therapeutic and supplementary food (RUTF/RUSF) community. As part of this effort, APC attended the bi-annual PlumpyField producers’ meeting in Madagascar—home to Tanjaka Foods, one of eleven member companies in the PlumpyField network. This gathering provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the network's operations and explore potential collaborations.
Earlier in the year, APC also visited Insta Foods, a cutting-edge RUTF producer located just outside Nairobi, Kenya. The state-of-the-art facility demonstrated clear potential for future partnerships, especially in sourcing high-quality U.S. peanuts as a key ingredient in therapeutic food products.
These visits marked a significant step forward in APC’s global strategy, allowing for firsthand relationship-building with key industry players and laying the groundwork for future collaborations that support both global nutrition goals and U.S. peanut exports.
