The American Peanut Council participated in the 2022 Food Ingredients Europe Expo. The event was held online from November 24- December 8, and in person December 6-8, in Paris. The onsite APC booth offered a platform for industry membership to participate. U.S. manufacturers and exporters of peanut butter, peanut granules, peanut oils and flours joined APC in this showcase opportunity.
The 2022 edition of FI Europe offered visitors a digitally enhanced experience to make the most out of valuable time at the live and online event. Buyers explored the companies and products that showcased at the event, connecting with buyers and sellers before, during and after the live show. Visitors were able to pre-validate potential connections by conducting meetings online, in advance of the in-person event. The digital experience born from the pandemic is fast becoming the new normal with trade shows, it makes both exhibiting and visiting more targeted and efficient.
APC attendance at FI Europe 2022 was very successful for industry membership, with new customers expressing interest in all the peanut ingredients. The APC booth welcomed visitors from Greece, France, Korea, Austria, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Tunisia, Switzerland, Cameron, Brazil, The Netherlands, Ireland, Algeria, Jordan, Turkey, Malta, Israel Poland, Kuwait, Moldova, Croatia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Unlike the snack sector, the ingredient business has long sell-in cycles anywhere from 6-18 months depending on customization. Although APC’s work promoting snacking peanuts with major retailers remains the most important for volume movement, the efforts in the ingredient sector are important as it is the high-value end of the U.S. peanut crop and, with the plant-based trend gaining traction, it is the area where industry needs to develop.
