U.S. peanut processors follow some of the most stringent food safety practices to ensure that consistency, safety and quality are present in every aspect of USA peanut production.
And as an industry, we continue to improve our food safety knowledge and practices. For instance, in the last ten years, the U.S. peanut industry has collaborated with the Food and Drug Administration and Centers of Disease Control to bring the latest information on food safety practices to our industry. We have also conducted research to better understand and improve thermal inactivation processes to reduce the risk of contaminants even further. It is a complex process – but we are constantly improving.
